Good Morning,Afternoon or maybe Evening depending on where you are, lets just not forget that we are all Gooners.

So we can officially say that pre-season football is about to start with Arsenal approaching our first game on the Asia tour, im filled with a bit of excitement and joy, after several weeks football deprived and hardly any finger nails left to chew as i await for the new season to begin. i truly cant wait to see our boys run out on to the field regardless it only being pre-season i still get excited about season Arsenal play whoever the opponent is and where.
All im hoping for is a decent result and for our guys to start to get into tip top shape for the new season, which in my opinion is going to be one of the hardest ever at the going rate our rivals are buying players. It will also be good to see our youngsters get a chance to prove their quality and maybe push for a first team spot as did Wilshere this time last year. When ever i hear the name Wilshere a little smirk comes to my face as i just think of how important this 19-year-old boy has become to the centre of our midfield and yet no one expected him to have such a pivotal role within the team throughout the season.

Next up on the cards is a young japanese prospect which i must say i cant wait to see in action wearing the oh so wonderful red & white of Arsenal. Ive heard a lot about Ryo and seen as much as i can from his time in the dutch league on TV and Youtube. From what i can tell he is a very direct player, a little comparison to Arshavin when he first join, driving at the full-back of the opposing team directly with pace and skill, something that Arsenal have lacked in the past season but have shown in glimpses. We will just have to wait and see if this High School Academy Graduate can play with the big boys in the EPL.

Another player im anxious to see in action again, Emmanuel Frimpong. Frimpong was talked about a lot during last years pre-season and notched up some very good performances against the likes of AC Milan in the Emirates Cup, unfortunately for Us and himself he was injured before the kick off of the new season which saw him out for the duration of the 2010/11 campaign. He was in contention of pushing for a first team place and threatening to take Song’s place in my opinion and it will be good to see if he is up to the task now.

Furthermore we have our new signing, yes you could say it is yet another youngster and is unproven but at the end of the day, he is at Arsenal and his name is Carl Jenkinson. its a different style of change from Wenger as Carl is quite a tall lad for a full-back but has an abundance of pace which we all know Wenger loves his full-backs to have. My guess is we will probably see Carl and Ryo make their debuts today to see how they work out giving the big players a bit of a rest before coming on.

Anyway thats all for now as im off to grab a beer and hopefully enjoy a non interrupted stream of the game on Arsenal Player.

Yours Goonerly.
