Good evening my fellow Arsenal Supporters, would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped promote the site on twitter and it doesn’t go unrecognised by myself at all.
Im going to start of tonights post with a bit of inside info from my fellow buddy Emmanuel Eboue who is currently here in england trying to get fit for the start of the season after sustaining a minor injury, hence not being apart of the squad taken on the Asia Tour. Eboue kindly invited me round during the week to accompany him to a friendly chit-chat and catch up. Of course me being a Arsenal fan in the company of an Arsenal player i couldn’t help myself and ask him a few questions and get his opinion on a few things.

Started off by asking him of his own opinion and what he knows of Gervinho, i wont go into all the details but from what was pretty much gathered from him, Eboue had a lot of praise for his fellow Ivorian, even tagging him as possibly being the next Eto’o of African football. He said he possesses an abundance of pace and skill quite like the Cameroonian Eto’o as well as his hunter instincts in front of goal. On a quick note gervinho did win Ivory Coast’s Player of the year above the likes of Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure which is some going by the tricksta. Eboue also said he was a very direct player and wasn’t concerned about running at the opposition and taking them on when possible, something Eboue stated Arsenal need more of.

Moving on from our little discussion about our new signing i asked what he thought of the whole situation i.e. Cesc & Nasri. He simply said it was all paper talk and rumours both players are very happy at Arsenal at the moment, hmmmm.
Furthermore as i asked him about any more potential signings to strengthen our team Eboue seemed adamant that there would be at least two more signings and a few shipped out, including the likes of Denilson and Bendtner as well as Almunia, which is great news on the lata and first. Thats as much as i will reveal from my afternoon spent with Eboue and will move on swiftly.

It seems the Cahill chase has stepped up on Arsenal front nearing the buy-out clause of £17mil wanted by Bolton, a few minor things to sort with a possible one or two loan moves in their direction. Cahill is a player i feel we are in dire need of with the possibility of Vermaelen playing left back out Centre Back choices look weak once again, having Cahill would strengthen our defence through the centre with a possibility of partnering Kos if Vermaelen was to be shifted to left back against the rugby like teams in the EPL *cough* stoke *cough*.

The team arrived in China yesterday and the welcoming was nothing less than Amazing, what you expect of course. I cant help but reiterate the importance of how the AST pushed the Board to widen our pre-season tour to the far east and how much on the commercial aspect it would be of a great benefit. This is a massive boost on how us fans can convince the board to listen and the AST have proven that themselves! This should now in all heinz sight prove to the board and commercial team that Asia has bags of potential commercially and a great impact on the team, exploring further afield from the Austrian mountains. All credit goes to AST on this and id like to personally thank them myself for this!

Thats all for today on Forty-Nine and i would like to say a big thank you to all the #FF’s recieved and publication of this site on twitter means the world fellow Gooners.

Yours Goonerly
