They Eight Us To Shreds // Best Away Fans In The League // Arsene Incapable Anymore by Alex-Forty-Nine

Where do i start after yesterdays indescribable performance by a so-called Arsenal team. The only association that turned up for Arsenal yesterday were those 3000 Arsenal Away fans who kudos to them did not stop singing at all despite the lack of passion and work rate from those 11 players on the pitch. Before i talk about the game and how i think about the players that played, i believe it is fully deserved for every single away fan yesterday to be fully refunded without fail after that abysmal display.

Moving on to the terrible game yesterday as i arrived home late completely shattered from a footy tournament i had played and walking into the living room only to see we were already 2-0 down and heard we had missed a penalty it all started to become even worse as more goals started to fly in. We were 3-0 and then out of no where we had got a cheeky goal before the break form a good finish from Walcott, about the only thing i had seen him do apart from winning the penalty. Going in at half time 3-1 down you felt this could be turned around, as we attack Manure they seemed to definitely be shaky and we attacked quite well but didn’t take our chances, if you were to look at the stats at half time you would never have believed we would be the team losing 3-1. It just goes to show that stats do no tell the whole story.

Second half started and Manure came flying out of the blocks causing our defence many more problems and showing how utterly shite they are. Traore now being linked with a move away played like a player who was set to leave, Djourou played like an absolute Donkey and look like Squid in disguise, Kos played decent but with out Vermaelen next to him to take command you could tell he was isolated constantly and with Djourou’s lack of positional awareness he was basically covering for the both of them and i don’t even want to get started on Jenkinson. If i start on my thoughts about Jenkinson i wont stop and it will upset a lot of Arsenal fans i leave it to your own opinions but my own one is not a good one of him. I think the biggest failing yesterday was seeing Wenger just sit there clueless and it all showed as soon as he took off Francis Coquelin who i thought was at least keeping it a fair score and trying to protect a terrible back four on his debut was truly a tough task for a once again inexperienced youth player stuck in the deep end by Wenger and his inability to see Experience is needed and fast.

We now have just over 48 hours to sort this complete mess out, do i have faith in Wenger to do it? No i don’t. Do i hope he really does? Of course i do i want the best for Arsenal FC the club i love and have grown up supporting. It’s a very tough task he’s got on his hands right now and to be honest it will take more than 3 players to sort it out. We have no excuse about injuries and suspensions of the end result yesterday even youth can’t be used as an excuse as they fielded a younger team than us.

The difference with their youth and ours is they have that EPL experience before even kicking a ball for them in the first team, they know the ins and outs and albeit at a price they have done it so well, Wenger’s view and singings of youth are of that of total difference to theirs. Wenger rarely buys tried and tested youth and they only suffer when called upon in the Arsenal team. Wilshere had it perfect for him, Wenger done it the right way for his progression and growth into a top player. That season long loan not only done wonders for him but it also gave him that experience in the EPL without having such a big weight on his shoulders and away from blocking his progression through being used as an Arsenal player. Ramsey needs that season long loan to an EPL, at the moment he isn’t up to playing for Arsenal in the first team, he will be for sure one day, but right now he’s not, there is far too much pressure on all our youngsters to play in this Arsenal team and it’s not their faults but it could hinder them in the future, Wenger is the only one at fault for sticking them in the deep end without any blow up arm supports to keep them afloat, that being Experienced players to help them.

At the moment its hard to feel sorry for Wenger unless we are told the truth, i don’t only blame him i blame the board highly, having an American owner who is incapable of speaking to the fans or rather doesn’t want to isn’t good for business at all. Transfer window officially shuts on Wednesday at 11pm and if nothing is done to improve or resolve this AW has lost my backing and the board has lost me completely a long time ago. This could very well be the last season at Arsenal for Wenger, Make or break for him indeed.

Thats all for me to write as i am still quite angry, frustrated and much more at the moment.

I’ll leave you with a little video of our immense away fans from yesterday who did not stop singing at all.

Yours Goonerly.

Mata En-Route To Emirates… // Chelsea’s Alex Linked by Alex-Forty-Nine

Forever linked

Good Evening Gooners and Goonerettes

Hope everyone is well during the craziest transfer window in a while. Seems as if the only top 4 teams that Haven’t spent is ourselves and Chelski, and with the latta not spending so far is a bit worrying. Mor importantly Arsenal Haven’t really spent much except for acquiring the services of a few youngsters and shifting out a few deadwood players so far.

So there is a lot of news going about the possibility of Arsenal signing Mata who has been linked with Arsenal for the duration of the Summer transfer window so far. The Daily Star report that the deal will be done within 24 hours and he should be due at the Emirates tomorrow –

JUAN Mata will sign for Arsenal in the next 24 hours.

Juan Mata, 23, has been strongly linked with a move away from Spain following his superb displays for Valencia last season.

The Spain international has attracted interest from a number of top sides across Europe but the north London rivals have emerged as the strong favourites to sign him.

The Daily Star also say that our scum neighbours are in for the services of the 23 year old Spaniard as well, but im pretty sure we all know who he would choose if it turns out to be as only ourselves and them to be in contention for the players signature. A move to the scum has also been reported that Mata has no desire at all to talk to them, Ha, and favours a move to the Emirates far more –

Juan Mata is very close to being Arsenal. If the transaction has not closed definitely still is because other two English clubs, one of which Tottenham have submitted in recent days pathways offers that are interesting enough for the player’s father, then a representative, is analyzing all the pros and cons of each.

The buyout clause is 20, but in reality the contract with the club Levante Mata lets trade their way out from 15 million. From this figure to 20 of the final compensation, Valencia can retain the player by scaling up the tab as the amount of supply and a total of 750,000 euros.

That statement was from Marca.com and has been translated hence the not so great english.

It will be interesting to see how this one pans out, i dont think i have to express how good i think this player is and it would be a great steal if we were to get him!

Next up doing the rumour mill is that we have apparently enquired about the services of Alex the Brazilian centre back playing for Chelsea. Alex still has 2 years left on his contract so i wonder how much he would cost, also knowing that Chelsea wouldnt really want to sell one of their players to Arsenal and especially a dominant centre back like Alex. I for one rate Alex and i actually rate all Chelsea’s centre backs apart from Terry, just cant rate a guy knowing how much of an a-hole he is. Alex would bring strenght, height and certainly experience to our back line and i would even rate him more than Jagielka and Samba.

Well thats all for today, dont forget to comment and so fourth will bring more to you wonderful people later on.

Yours Goonerly.

Mata // Cahill // Jagielka // Parker // Martinez by Alex-Forty-Nine

Must be your lucky day today, two posts in the space of 20 minutes.

Well so far Arsenal have been linked with untold players. Strikers, midfielders and defenders. Wenger surprised us all i think by coming out and saying –

Certainly, we will have to find one more defender,” he said. “We [are] working on it.

Quoted from Arsenal.com directly its something that confirms we all know we need a defender and apart from only conceding 2 goals in 3 games, i think Wenger has realised he needs to strengthen his defence even more, having lodged a bid for £10 million for Jagielka, which i think is a reasonable offer but Everton don’t sell cheap and they wouldn’t sell him for £10 million no chance at all. We have now placed a £12 million bid which is not even close to Everton’s £20 million valuation, total piss take also. Wenger is playing hard ball i reckon, showing Bolton there are other players we are in for, Having already confirmed we had a late bid for Jones accepted of around £16 million with add ons, a sign Wenger is ready to splash it but just playing the usual games every team do. With Cahill around £17 million Jageilka around £20 million, i reckon we will end up with Cahill and i think this hes the better choice out of the two. Although Cahill being younger both are fairly similar except Cahill possesses more height than Jagielka, which Arsenal are in dire need of. Were making Bolton sweat on this one knowing he is in his last year contract, and they will probably be forced into selling him for around £14 million nearer the season knowing they could well lose him for nothing come the summer of 2012.

moving on Mata rumours will not go away so maybe there is some real truth, i think we all know how much quality this guy attains its just the question if Wenger will dash up £23 odd million to acquire the services of this very talented Spaniard. Its only 19 days until the start of the season and Wenger needs to act fast for the player to be able to blend in and at least try to make an instant impact. Theres also rumours that we are in for Athletic Club de Bilbao’s star man Javi Martinez as a player also on Wenger’s wish-list for the summer and the possibility of buying Martinez and Mata, cants say ive seen much of Martinez myself but ive seen a lot of Mata, Mata would be a great buy and would certainly cheer us Gooners up a bit.

Mata of time?

The latest to hit the Rumour mill is Wenger has rekindled his interest in Scott Parker as he looks to bolster his centre midfield up a bit more, i actually admired him during the past season, being a massive stand out player and captain for West Ham and believe he would be a great addition to our squad, probably not the starting 11 though. He would bring a lot of passion with him to Arsenal which is something we also lack from our players and it has shower over the last quarter of the season having only won 3 games out of our last 18 or something like that, a terrible stat for a team like our Arsenal, makes me even wonder how we managed to finish fourth.

Another tit that has come out and admitted of trying to tap up a player of ours is that twat i actually regard as one of my top five hated players in the EPL, Evra. I actually hate the guy, and he makes my hate grow even higher by admitting he has tried to convince Nasri in joining him at Manure next season with quotes from The Guardian –

“I remember I made a little joke saying that he’s a prince now but if he wants to be the king then he has to join Man United,” Evra said in the Sun. “But that’s the reality – and I’ve told him that. I’ve said: ‘If you want to win trophies, you have to come here.’

“In five years, I’ve won 12 trophies and I don’t know if I’d have won more than that with another club. So I just told him the truth.”

This makes my blood boil and surely Arsene’s. if Nasri isn’t issued an ultimatum to sign i would flog him straight away to the highest bidder. End of that.

Thats all from the Rumour mill for now.

I also had a little chat with Eboue earlier today asking him about the rumours doing the rounds about him and he’s assured me he hasn’t heard any of it, But he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of leaving Arsenal at the moment as his position is being threatened by Jenkinson right now, Galatasary out of the question for him though.

Thats it for today my fellow Gooners and Goonerettes.

Yours Goonerly.

2-1 Final Score Arsenal v Cologne // Gervinho With Brace by Alex-Forty-Nine
25/07/2011, 17:37

Good Evening everyone, hope all is well. Sorry for not posting actively over the weekend was a crazy one for myself.

Lets begin with the Game on saturday. So having just rushed home from work and caught the game from 2 minutes onwards, first impressions on the whole, a good start by our Forward gervinho, no comment on the forehead literally!
He seems to have the instinct with his runs and has blistering pace, very direct for once and starts his Arsenal career off with two well taken goals. The midfield trio of Song,Wilshere and Ramsey is growing on me every time i watch them. Its fair to see the first half Arsenal 11 had much more pace within the side and is far more impressive than our second half Arsenal 11. I enjoyed watching the less experienced Midfield with the Better defence in place i should add excluding Sagna, it allowed the attack of Arsenal to be more expressive and explosive when attacking not worrying so much if they had the likes of squid and Djourou behind them. The second half team were dreadful to watch apart from Arshavin, which if i must be honest has impressed be a lot during pre-season, looking much fitter and sharper already which is good to see considering how important the silent russian assassin is to our player. It is widely never taken into consideration what he does due to the lack of his work-rate sometimes which is understandable. Gervinho started for Arsenal and having only spent 30 minutes on the pitch in total, scored two goals and that will start him off with a nice confidence boost, great start in my view.  his runs behind the defenders were well timed and his direct play will prove a good factor for Arsenal in the coming season.

30 Minutes 2 Goals Lovely Jubly...

Going back to the second half team,  we showed no real urgency and without any real pace in the team we really did look abismal to watch, no real plan at all hardly kept possession and really didn’t threat the opposition goalkeeper except for Arshavin’s chances. It looked like we didn’t have a plan b and without any pace we looked clueless which also leads me to the point that without any pacy players in the Arsenal team we could struggle against any team and look rather Average.

The game ended 2-1 which we were quite lucky with IMO a good result as Cologne did test our defence quite a bit and a wonder own goal from Jenkinson, which is very unlucky but will be good to see how he reacts to it in the next game. It was nice to also see Nasri and Sagna consoling him at the half time break.

Its still evident that we do need a top notch Centre Half and i think Wenger also knows it, with the rumour mill doing its round im sure the silence will be broken in the coming weeks and Arsenal will announce a new signing perhaps before the Emirates Cup if were lucky.

A team slightly better than Cologne would not have walked away with that game losing thats for sure.

Thats that for this post.

Yours Goonerly.

Fabregas,Almunia & Bendtner Off? // Mata,Cahill,Lukaku In? // Overpriced Englishmen… by Alex-Forty-Nine

Good Evening Gooners & Goonerettes, would like to say thanks to all that have visited and read my posts as we have ow surpassed the one week anniversary since Forty-Nine was created and im delighted im still surviving! Just About Ha!

Also a quick thanks from everyone on twitter helping promote the site and for all the #FF’s received today!

Moving on swiftly before i bore you all, Arsenal have announce Cesc d that will not be attending the trip to Germany to play Cologne tomorrow afternoon due to a continuous “injury” yea right. I’ve had enough of this Barca/Cesc/Arsenal Transfer saga which is basically something which has come in common when mentioning Arsenal of late. Barca should stop acting like stubborn kids and offer the money which is deserved by Arsenal for the services of Cesc, thats if they even want him that much. The bids show no real intent of their desire to capture the player that has “Barca DNA” and is “Destined to go back home”, £27-33million bids are ridiculous and im sure they even know it is too, they are playing a bully game, they know that by even putting an offer it is keeping Cesc interested knowing the fact they are “trying” to buy him and making him oblivious to the fact that in all honesty the only intent they are showing is only just to keep him sweet and happy knowing the club he loves, dreams and wants to play for again is even attempting regardless how pathetic their attempts are. Its gone that far now that ive decided that this will be my last post on Cesc until he either leaves or is still an Arsenal player come 1st of September.

In other news Wenger has also confirmed that Bendtner is staying behind due to the delay in a proposed move away form Arsenal. I’m actually quite gutted about seeing Bendtner possibly leaving Arsenal, i think he has the ability to become a top striker regardless how big his ego is. I remember first seeing the Dane in the reserves suiting long hair. he was quite impressive on the night i first saw him scoring a hatrick and boasted quite a bit of strength back then having been one of our biggest players in the reserves. I feel that Wenger never really gave him a chance in the Arsenal team as our main striker albeit how top-notch Van Persie is, Wenger provides something different, his presence is a bit better than Van Persie but no doubt the lata is far more technically gifted. he has helped Arsenal before, coming on many a time to score a late equaliser or winning goal in the past seasons and has since been noted as a super sub rather than a starter.

Viking Bendtner

Next up is Alumina the clown of the team, okay im sorry that was a bit harsh, he does look like he is on drugs though and half asleep constantly, maybe the fact that the amount of silly goes he’s let in may be due to that aye?
It’s funny that Wenger doesn’t even mention or talk about Almunia anymore as if he is inexistant, i feel sorry for him as he was probably only destined to ever feature as a No.2 choice for any team. I’m pretty sure we shall see him depart from the Emirates this summer and we shall then find out who will vacate the No.1 jersey seeing as Shezzers has been named as No.13.

So we have been once again linked with a move to Mata and it has now been suggested that we have been given the green light to go ahead and propose an offer and if suitable being allowed to speak to the player. Excellent signing that would be, only 23 already playing in a top league is a regular and superstar at Valencia and he still has bags more potential to offer. The Cahill story has died down bu Bolton are due back on saturday and Arsenal due back next wednesday so we should be looking to further negotiations as im told now from my sources late next week. Hurry up Wenger!

Lukaku is being linked highly with Chelski, Citeh and us the Mighty Gooners, supposedly he doesn’t fancy a move to the blue side of north london so that may be a good sign for us depending on whether Citeh decide to offer him triple of whatever we offer. We shall see on that one too, time will tell and of course the fee is what it always depends on with Arsenal having already put a bid in for Jagielka of £10million but notably turned down and told to come back with £20million far from his valuation of course.

This moves me onto the price some teams demand for English players that always seem to put Arsene off buying. I feel as if most teams see the need to slap on an extra £10million to the valuation of an english player for example the recent Chamberlain, Southampton apparently holding out for £12million up front is far from what the player is actually worth and a huge fee to ask for a League 1 albeit now Championship player only at the age of 17. Jagielka as well-being valued at £20million by Everton is far from the real valuation that should be set around £10-15million and nothing more, the lists are endless at how much english players cost now, and its been proven most by Liverpool this summer.

Thats all for now, hope you all enjoy the game tomorrow.

Yours Goonerly.

Ribery Misery by Alex-Forty-Nine

Yay or Nay?

So doing the rounds today and a bit part last night is that Arsenal are “Apparently” in talks with Bayern Munich over Frank Ribery.

I used to rate Ribery before his move to Munich but hes become a very lazy and injury prone player, also become over shadowed by the likes of Robben and the up and coming young German forward Muller.

The deal doesn’t make sense to me, the only reason i can come up with is to keep Nasri happy in the departure of Cesc perhaps, overall i dont feel we are in for Ribery which would require a hefty £20million to acquire his services and a bit of a risky one with his track record of injurys and having failed at completing a full season with the German side.

Thats all for now.

What Would Be The Ideal Summer In The View Of An Arsenal Fan? by Alex-Forty-Nine
20/07/2011, 14:34

Media Terrorists....

So I start off today with a different subject involving our summer transfer pursuit, im juts going to explain what I would see as our ideal summer during this tough transfer window, some may agree some may disagree, but I would like to hear what everyone thinks and what they would class as a good summer transfer window for Arsenal.

I’m going to start off by going through all the Ins and Outs involving our beloved club Arsenal. First of all starting with all the various Outs, rumours or non-rumours, players already shipped out and who will be or should be in my view.

The Fabregas saga has gone on for too long in my view now, as Arsenal we should put down our foot and issue Fabregas an ultimatum, which some may disagree on this, we ask him finally what he proposes and what he wishes and we do the same, for example we tell him there is no way we are willing to stoop down for a fee of under £40million which in my opinion is still cheap and i feel we should be pushing for somewhere in the region of £50million plus. We should ask him if he understands this clearly and whether he is going to be fully committed to Arsenal if and when Barca do not pay the fee we want!  If he finds this suitable to himself we should then make him force a public announcement stating his desire because as far as the fans are concerned we have o idea what he’s been thinking during the past seasons and all this saga with Barca, if he doesn’t agree we should then strip him of captaincy because in my opinion no player who is not committed to the club should have the privilege to wear the captains armband and lead our club every time we step onto that pitch. Maybe stripping the captaincy from him will relieve him of a bit of pressure for the time being and placing it to a player who we can all tell would be by far more suitable in the likes of Vermaelen, and before everyone starts about RVP I believe no striker should be captain of a football team regardless who they are, you can lead your team from up top. If we were to sort this out with Cesc and the cunts across the sea by the name of Cuntelona then thats the first step in the right direction.

Another player constantly in the media is Samir Nasri, a player whois entering the last 12 months of his contract enabling him to leave on a free to whoever tickles his fancy at the end of the season. Firstly im appalled that Arsenal have once again allowed one of our pivotal players to enter the last year of their contract and even more disgusting is we are willing to keep it that way and face the risk of losing him to a rival for free! Am I the only one that doesn’t understand the logic in allowing a player with the talent Nasri possesses to see out his contract and totally ignore the possibility of snatching £20million+ for him if sold this summer? nonetheless we should offer him that one last contract, as ive heard in the region of £110,000-a-week if he still doesn’t sign then ship him. Nasri was by far one of the most loved players last season at home and away games if we were to let him continue playing at Arsenal having not signed a contract that will quickly change. At the moment the ideal situation which I see for Arsenal and which would keep myself happy is if we kept both Nasri and Fabregas but continued to strengthen and show ambition in the transfer market which Nasri “stated” he wants to “see”.

Next up the situation involving our defence in particular our Left back and Centre back areas. Having seen Wenger put his trust in the services of Gibbs to fulfil his left back problems, which i disagree is the right option, it leaves me thinking that selling Clichy wasn’t such a great idea only to replace him with an injury prone non-natural left back. In my eyes Gibbs isn’t a left back at all, throughout his reserve time he was a Centre Midfielder and a Left Winger. He’s still very young and his positioning is as poor as Clichy’s was. Although Wenger did go on to say he has Vermaelen to cover as a left back this then leaves us short of a strong CB pairing, ideally i wouldn’t want us to go into the new season without a purchase of a top-notch Centre back with added height and the ability to defend set-pieces which we all know is Arsenal’s weakness. Gary Cahill as mentioned yesterday is a perfect choice, which then leaves us with G.Cahill, Kos, Squid(Oh No) and Djourou if Vermaelen was to be deployed as a left back. Wenger has also stated that Squid is our 4th choice CB and we all know he isn’t goo enough to be that, also knowing with Arsenal that our 4th choice centre backs always have an important role throughout the season, i feel we would need to bring in another CB, my choice would be Samba. leaving us against the likes of Stoke and so on the teams that always expose us when defending set pieces with a back line of Sagna – Samba – Cahill – Vermaelen. I do though think Kos will be an excellent defending in the coming years he just needs more time to improve and maybe learn off Vermaelen and Cahill if they were to be the pairing CB’s against other teams. Having said that the need to buy two CB’s we would then need to ship out one, that one being in my opinion Squid, a very odd buy in the first place at the age of 30+ I feel he isn’t quite cut out for the Premiership and therefor I feel he needs to leave.

Having already seen Denilson depart (Hooray!!) i still feel there is a bit more deadwood that needs shifting, as I look back on the games last season I still feel that we don’t have any natural wingers as do the likes of Manure the champions which now have Nani, Valencia, Young and the possibility of Park, this being a short area for Arsenal as we too often deploy a striker as a winger in the effect of playing lone striker RVP up top. Buying a player like Mata would be a great addition and even enforce some real competition in the team for first team spots which our team needs! Sometimes I feel the lack of work-rate or the will to turn up to games during the season against the “weaker” teams is due to players knowing that they will be in the Starting 11 and the ones that come into replace know that’s only their job to give the main 11 a rest, it shouldn’t work like this at all. We want our players to fight for positions against whoever opponent we come against.

In summary I feel that getting all my points sorted out and so on and showing some real intent in this transfer window which is the most important for Wenger in all his time at Arsenal will not only uplift the team but also the fans, which we all need having suffered watching our team fail for 6 years in a row now. We can’t afford it to be 7 years and neither can Wenger, lets all just hope Wenger realises this.

Dont be shy to comment your own opinions on what you think should be done or not be done and the view of what i think.

Thats all for now, enjoy reading, hopefully I didn’t bore you all.

Yours Goonerly.
